Materials Handler II - 2nd Shift (Job )

Shift: 2 (M-Th )

Summary: Receives and issues parts/components to/from the manufacturing operation. Properly identifies material and is accountable for its accuracy in the stock locations. Ensures availability of production material for assigned programs and inventories material from receiving or production returns.

• Pull parts from stock to build kits assigned to Production Control; issue and distribute the kits to the manufacturing operation.
• Fill and account for material requisitions submitted from Operations.
• Receive and place parts/components into stock from receiving/inspection.
• Assist in tracking and filling backorders as parts become available.
• Ensure correct balances are maintained through cycle counts, investigate any discrepancies.
• Include parts‑prep area inventory in value‑add activities.
• Monitor reports to prioritize material delivery to correct locations in a timely manner.
• Restock shelves with incoming material from various sources and locate material in the computer system.
• Reconcile returned kits from the production floor, researching and documenting discrepancies.
• Research and identify material‑related issues using system inquiries.
• Provide basic assistance and direction to lower‑level employees as requested.
• May pull and send requests for component sales orders to shipping.
• May be required to operate a forklift.
• Monitor reports to ensure materials are stored in correct locations prior to production requirements.
• Maintain quality of work to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.

• 3+ years of material/warehouse experience.
• Effective organization and prioritization skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to complete projects timely.
• Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work individually or in teams.
• Requires close supervision for task completion.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers or customers.
• Understanding and use of continuous improvement tools.
• Participation in continuous improvement activities.
• May require forklift operation; forklift certification may be required.
