Mayo Clinic’s clinical systems communications team is looking for a hands‑on communications expert who loves creating polished deliverables—infographics, videos, presentations, and digital campaigns—while applying ADKAR change management to help audiences understand and embrace change.

Responsibilities include:

• Excel at personally creating visual storytelling deliverables (infographics, videos, presentations, digital campaigns) and flawless written content.
• Apply ADKAR change management principles to craft communications that drive adoption and engagement.
• Translate ambiguity into clear, actionable strategies and produce deliverables that bring them to life.
• Bring curiosity and flexibility—digging into new or complex topics, quickly building subject‑matter expertise, and using that knowledge to craft fluent, inspiring communications.
• Design and deliver brand‑aligned newsletters, intranet pages, and digital content that inspire action.
• Use data and feedback to refine your work and demonstrate impact.
• Build trust through collaboration while contributing directly to projects.

The department is responsible to build, grow and protect Mayo Clinic’s reputation in a way that shapes the external environment and nurtures the culture to help achieve the mission of the organization. Department functions consist of reputation management including thought leadership and issues/crisis response; client communications and engagement programs; staff engagement; content and channels; government and community engagement; strategy and insights;

communications services.

The senior specialist understands Mayo Clinic business objectives and priorities to develop plans to support those objectives. The senior specialist provides consultation and guidance to various clients, and plans, drives, implements, monitors and measures results. Develops and maintains relationships with Mayo Clinic executive leadership, staff and members of the local and national government and/or media to advance organizational awareness and achievements.

May lead client teams and provides mentorship and direction to others.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, healthcare, or similar field, plus 5 years professional experience in a relevant field. Proven expertise in creating and executing communications strategies based upon business objectives. Requires strong leadership, problem‑solving, critical thinking, active listening, persuasive oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills. Proven communications consultative, planning and execution abilities.

Must be able to work effectively in a consensus‑style and collaborative environment that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be comfortable in a fast‑paced, changing environment. Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively to drive forward multiple projects.

Has a positive influence on others. Position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
