Coordinated Campaign Regional Organizing Director

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party is hiring full-time Coordinated Campaign Regional Organizing Directors for the 2026 cycle. This is a mid-level position for an experienced organizer. Applicants without prior field organizing experience will not be considered. As a Regional Organizing Director, you will be managing teams of Field Organizers as we all work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

We are seeking organizers who are looking to grow their skills managing staff and are passionate about helping Field Organizers grow their skills while meeting and exceeding goals.

Regional Organizing Directors will report to the Coordinated Campaign Organizing Director. Positions will be physically based in field offices throughout the state. This position would start with a required, in‑person, multi‑day training and run through the election. We will be accepting applications on a rolling basis, priority will be given to those who apply on or before March 1, 2026. Duluth area preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Team of Field Organizers:
    Recruit, train, manage and support a team of organizers and volunteers in your assigned region.
  • Direct Voter Contact:
    Manage Field Organizers as your team executes comprehensive direct voter contact programs to increase DFL turnout in the General Election. Regional Organizing Directors will spend some time knocking on doors. Direct Voter Contact can also mean phone banking, text banking, or other methods of targeted outreach.
  • Volunteer Recruitment:
    Recruit volunteers to join Direct Voter Contact events to amplify our grassroots efforts. Regional Organizing Directors will spend some time alongside their staff making recruitment phone calls to prospective volunteers to invite them to volunteer, but they may at times attend local candidate/party events, or meet prospective volunteers in other progressive spaces to recruit volunteers for the MN DFL.
  • Volunteer Training:
    Train and empower volunteers with the skills and knowledge to door knock and phone bank to turn out DFL voters.
  • Community Engagement:
    Build strong connections with DFL activists and volunteers in the assigned community.
  • Data Management:
    Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of voter contact information and engagement activities. Utilize data to inform decisions and measure the impact of outreach efforts.
  • Represent the DFL:
    Serve as the local representative for the DFL within the community you are assigned.
  • Volunteer Management:
    Help grow volunteer infrastructure in your region and help Field Organizers grow their own people management skills. Meet or exceed metric based goals for volunteer recruitment & retention as well as mobilizing Democrats to vote.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    Other duties as assigned by supervisor, Coordinated Campaign leadership, or Chair.
Requirements
  • Support all of our DFL endorsed candidates.
  • At least one cycle completed as a field organizer for a Democratic campaign or equivalent issue based campaign.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed field goals.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work long or irregular hours, including most nights and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Vote Builder (VAN), Google Suite.
  • Cultural Competency – Able to build authentic relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity, citizenship status, or other identities. Understands how to take an inclusive lens into all aspects of work.
Preferred but not required
  • Minnesota campaigns experience or ties to the state.
  • Experience managing paid staff.
  • Experience in the region you’re applying for.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Somali.
Compensation

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement between the Minnesota DFL Party and IBEW Local 292. Compensation is $2,538.46 per biweekly pay period. Employees of the DFL are paid on a biweekly basis and receive a competitive benefits package including health care and dental.
