Job Overview
The OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training Program is a dynamic, person-centered training experience designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career in healthcare. This program builds foundational knowledge in person-centered care, healthcare fundamentals, ethics, nutrition, and more, through a structured blend of online learning, skills training, and hands‑on clinical experience.
This is a 75-hour comprehensive training program combining didactic instruction and supervised practical application.
Program Structure Online Curriculum (45 hours)Self-paced learning that includes:
- Interactive learning activities
- Knowledge quizzes
- Proctored exams
Participants must achieve a minimum score of 76% on all proctored exams.
Skills Instruction (10–12 hours)Hands‑on training that may include:
- Live demonstrations by an RN Trainer
- Skills lab practice using mannequins and peer‑to‑peer learning
Real‑world experience including:
- Clinical rotation in the assigned department of hire
- Supervised training with a designated Nursing Assistant preceptor
Nursing Assistant Trainees provide essential, compassionate patient care while supporting a patient‑centered care environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with patients and caregivers in care planning and decision‑making
- Assisting with activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, and oral hygiene
- Supporting mobility, including positioning and ambulation
- Providing skin care, including clean and sterile dressing changes and application of ointments or creams
- Collecting and processing specimens
- Changing linens and maintaining patient environment
- Promptly responding to call lights
- Promoting patient comfort, dignity, and safety at all times
Participants who successfully complete all program requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion

Attendance is mandatory. Any absence or tardiness, regardless of reason, may result in dismissal from the program.
Certification RequirementParticipants must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
