Associate Dean Nursing Research

Overview

Associate Dean for Nursing Research. The successful individual will lead the Division of Nursing Research, oversee all nursing research programs, and integrate research within the Department of Nursing at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and across all Mayo Clinic sites. The role includes developing and managing the infrastructure that advances the scientific foundation of nursing practice and aligns it with clinical practice institution‑wide.

• Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate policies, programs, and services related to nursing research.
• Assess the research environment, forecast trends, and communicate values, ideas, and strategies.
• Coach and mentor nursing research staff, ensuring alignment with Mayo Clinic’s strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with administrative and research leadership to build appropriate infrastructure and support nursing research.

• Registered Nurse (R.N.) with an advanced terminal research degree (Ph.D.). Ph.D. in nursing preferred; a master’s degree in nursing is acceptable if the Ph.D. is in a related health sciences field.
• Track record of securing extramural research funding as a principal investigator (e.g., NIH, Department of Defense, AHRQ) and national reputation in a focused area of science.
• Significant portfolio of data‑based publications in leading journals.
• Extensive record of mentoring across all career stages and experience in a leadership role with demonstrated achievements.
• Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor of Nursing (Professor rank preferred).
