Position Overview
Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Forensics Nursing Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Registered Nurse Supervisor. The Registered Nurse Supervisor provides supervision in the coordination and delivery of nursing care provided to clients at Forensic Mental Health Program. This position serves as a leader and resource person for nursing staff and other employees and uses the nursing process as a guideline to ensure that staff are providing an appropriate level of skilled clinical nursing care.
Responsibilities- Participate in establishing and coordinating the implementation of the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives, and standards of practice, care and performance for nursing care within Forensic Services.
- Participate in maintaining adequate and appropriate staffing levels in Forensic Services.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, plus three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two (2) years as a charge Registered Nurse; OR
- Associate degree or diploma in nursing, plus four (4) years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two (2) years as a charge Registered Nurse.
- Supervisory experience in a residential or hospital setting.
- Experience working with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness patients in a residential or hospital setting.
- Experience preparing nursing teams, sections, or units for accreditation and/or licensing surveys.
- Experience with conflict management.
- Experience working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
