The Divisions of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Metabolic and Abdominal Wall Reconstructive Surgery, Breast and Melanoma surgical oncology, and Endocrine Surgery are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as part of a collaborative team of surgeon consultants, fellows, residents, nurses, and other staff to provide 24/7 hospital coverage managing the inpatient care of adult surgical patients undergoing complex liver, pancreas, gastric, abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine, bariatric and breast procedures.
Our NP/PA hospitalist team conducts comprehensive assessments of patients including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing, prescribing of pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies where a high level of autonomy is expected. Providing care across this diverse patient population provides you the opportunity to hone your skills in several surgical specialties.
FTE: 0.8-1.0 based on candidate preference. Shifts are 6am-6pm weekday and weekend days, 5pm-7am weeknights, 1-2 holidays per year, weekends every 4-6 weeks on variable schedule. Our schedules are collaboratively built within our NPPA team, allowing for valued off-time for personal pursuits, development, and life/work balance.
CompensationCompensation is based on education and experience. The base salary ranges from $128,000 to $179,000. This is a 24/7 position and would be eligible for shift differential.
Total compensation includes benefits‑eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receiving up to 7 trip days and an annual allotment of $4,400, plus state license renewal fees, DEA license renewal fees, required professional certification and recertification fees, membership dues, subscriptions, conference fees, and one Apple iPad, iPad mini, or iPhone per year for patient care purposes. Relocation is allotted for candidates 70 or more miles away from Rochester, MN.
QualificationsMasters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP, DNP.
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.
Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
