As a Chemotherapy Infusion RN, you’ll deliver treatment and make a lasting impact during critical moments in a patient’s life. The role includes:
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and advanced cancer therapies.
- Support patients through education, therapeutic communication, and emotional care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on innovative treatments and research.
- Work with ports, PICC lines, and IV placement while building meaningful relationships with patients throughout their care.

- 12+ hours of structured chemotherapy education.
- 12 hours of cancer core knowledge.
- Three months of guided, hands‑on learning.
- Coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
- Supporting professional nursing practice across settings and across the continuum of care to meet needs of patients and families.
- Functioning within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
- Providing leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
- Delegating patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
- Possessing excellent communication skills; skillful in mentoring and teaching; may participate on committees or projects.
- A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of the role.
- This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of Visa Screen or equivalent certification.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, NLN CNEA).
- At least one year of RN experience.
- Associate‑degree RN must provide documented evidence of baccalaureate degree completion within five years of RN start date (or as required).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer skills required; prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post‑start date; acceptable certifications include AHA/Heartcode® BLS, Military Training Network, Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.
- Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work.
