- Planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating the personnel activities within defined areas of practice to ensure the provision of quality patient care 24 hours a day.
- Contributing to the strategic planning process and attainment of goals of Charter House.
- Promoting ongoing development of staff and maintaining a professional environment in which all staff grow and develop.
- Clinical leadership on the unit, serving as a role model, mentor, and clinical resource for nursing staff.
- Supervising the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel.
- Applying the nursing process to assess resident needs, developing, implementing, and updating individualized care plans, implementing evidence‑based interventions, and evaluating outcomes to promote functional ability, safety, and quality of life in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and applicable federal regulations.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and family/significant others to coordinate services across the continuum of care.
- Utilizing clinical and non‑clinical software systems to maintain accurate records, and contributing to a culture of quality, safety, and regulatory readiness.
- This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the Visa Screen or equivalent certification. Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Direct reports may include RN, LPN, trained medication assistant, CNA, and care aide.
QualificationsTo be considered for this position, you must have a BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- In lieu of a BSN, you may qualify if you have an associate degree in nursing and 3 years of long‑term care experience.
- Licensure/Certification:
You must have a current RN license registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing and CPR certification.
- Master's degree in nursing, business or a health‑related field is preferred.
- Previous nursing experience with long‑term care, including dementia care, assisted living, home health or acute care is preferred.
- Long‑term care experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good communication and human relations skills to interact with staff, residents, and families/significant others.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collect, compare, sort, and prioritize information to be used in the decision‑making process for groups of residents and employees.
