American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CV Surgery ICU position requiring 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience and an active MN RN license.

Requirements
  • Active RN license in Minnesota
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross)
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required
  • CV Surgery ICU experience preferred
  • 6 months of recent travel nursing experience required, 1 year preferred
  • 3 total travel assignments may satisfy experience requirement in lieu of 2 years specialty experience
  • Cardiac monitoring/telemetry skills with ability to read strips required
  • Must pass an ECG exam during orientation to continue assignment
  • Experience with VAD, Impella, ECMO, and balloon pumps preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE); additional experience required if program was not accredited or graduation occurred more than 2 years ago without qualifying experience
  • COVID vaccination and booster required
Responsibilities
  • CV Surgery ICU unit within a hospital setting
  • 13-week assignment scheduled for 36 hours per week
  • Day/Night rotation  and ) with straight nights option )
  • Required to work every 3rd weekend
  • Floating required as needed
  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
  • Uses Epic for EMR charting
  • Coordinate direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients
  • Provide leadership through preceptor roles, mentoring, teaching, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
  • Travellers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
  • On-site work required with no teleworking options
