Travel RN - Pediatric ICU - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of Peds CVS ICU experience and an active MN RN license.

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience required
• 6 months of previous travel experience required, 1 year strongly preferred
• Strong cardiac monitoring skills required
• Central/arterial line management experience required
• Pacemaker management experience required
• Heart transplant experience preferred
• ECMO experience a plus but not required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE); additional RN experience required if program was not accredited or graduation was not within the last two years

Responsibilities

• Highly specialized pediatric cardiac surgery ICU providing advanced postoperative management of care
• 13-week assignment in a hospital setting
• Day/Night rotation  and ), 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Works every 3rd weekend
• Floating required as needed to other areas within the Children s Center, including NICU and General Pediatric care areas
• Uses Epic charting system
• ECG exam administered during orientation
• Coordinate nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts
• Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
• Facility may call off or cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
• First-time travelers may be considered given required experience is met
