Join a rapidly growing neuroimmunology laboratory that provides specialized clinical autoimmune serology testing, directly supporting the diagnosis of complex autoimmune disorders affecting the brain, nerves, and muscles. This role bridges advanced autoimmune neurology practice with cutting-edge research by performing high-complexity testing on serum and spinal fluid using both automated and manual methodologies. You will contribute to a high-volume laboratory that performs millions of tests annually and is actively implementing advanced automation to enhance efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory testing on serum and spinal fluid to support the diagnosis of autoimmune disorders of the brain, nerves, and muscles.
- Conduct a variety of immunology and serology assays, including tissue and transfected cell-based fluorescence microscopy, radioimmunoassays, flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA, and chemiluminescence assays.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and automation systems to ensure accurate and efficient test performance.
- Carry out both automated and manual testing procedures, following established protocols and quality standards.
- Process and handle specimens accurately, ensuring proper labeling, tracking, and preparation for analysis.
- Apply knowledge of chemistry and biology to interpret test procedures and support the resolution of technical issues.
- Follow all laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Collaborate with laboratory colleagues to support continuous improvement, high throughput, and reliable turnaround times in a high-volume testing environment.
- Document test results and instrument activities clearly and accurately in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Participate in the implementation and optimization of new automation lines and technologies to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in a human biological science such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
