Job Overview
The Gingery laboratory investigates local and systemic impacts of aging, cellular senescence, immune dysregulation, and metabolic dysfunction in musculoskeletal diseases and conditions. The laboratory focuses on conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren contracture, rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue fibrosis, tendinopathy, rotator cuff tears, tendon injury and repair, skeletal biology, and wound healing. The goal is to develop evidence‑based preventives and therapeutics using multidisciplinary, state‑of‑the‑art approaches, including bioinformatics and spatial, single‑cell, and metabolomic multi‑omics.
The Research Technologist will support ongoing projects with routine, cell, molecular, model system, and translational laboratory work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The position requires a highly goal‑oriented, detail‑focused approach and strong teamwork skills. Training will be provided on many in‑lab techniques; previous experience with model systems and molecular methods is highly preferred.
Responsibilities- Set up and perform routine and established laboratory procedures in support of lab goals and grant commitments, such as assays, cell/tissue culture, and animal studies.
- Monitor results, report unusual outcomes, and suggest modifications to protocols.
- Collect, enter, and summarize data.
- Assist in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
- Perform basic statistical data analysis and prepare tables, charts, and graphs.
- Assist in organizing data and contributing to manuscript writing.
- Present findings at research laboratory meetings.
- Work under supervision and, when approved by the Principal Investigator, perform assignments independently.
Requires a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or another relevant science, or an associate's degree with 6 years of laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety, and must be able to organize and carry out laboratory procedures independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required, and this position requires demonstrated scientific writing skills.

Hourly: $27.99–$41.98, based on education, experience, and tenure.
ScheduleFull Time, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑5:00. Limited tenure position approved for one year with possibility for extension. Some weekend effort may be required.
