We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team advancing the development and application of deep learning in cardiovascular radiology. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, cardiology, and radiology.
The project focuses on developing and applying innovative deep learning methods—including segmentation algorithms, large language models (LLMs), and multimodal deep learning approaches—to improve image‑based assessment of cardiovascular structure and disease. The emphasis will be on the development of trustworthy AI models to facilitate their clinical translation.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and evaluating the designed deep learning methods.
- Working in a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians.
- Publishing in leading scientific journals and conferences.
- Applying for research grants.
- Candidates with a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong background in medical image analysis and deep learning demonstrated by a publication track‑record is required.
- Experience in cardiovascular image analysis is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Python and major machine learning frameworks is required.
- Clinical experience or educational background is desirable but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Highly motivated and independent.
- Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer‑reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J‑1 Short‑Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
