Responsibilities

Research Technologist – Neuroimmunology / Translational Research Laboratory

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technologist to join a translational research laboratory focused on neuroimmunology, biomarker discovery, and development of advanced immunologic assays. The individual in this role will support ongoing research studies through hands‑on laboratory work, experimental organization, data analysis, and maintenance of accurate laboratory records.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, intellectually curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced research environment that bridges basic science and clinical applications.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures in support of research studies and assay development
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, samples, and laboratory materials
  • Conduct pipetting-intensive experiments and 96-well plate-based assays with precision and consistency
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory notebooks and experimental records
  • Assist with optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of laboratory assays
  • Process and organize biological specimens according to laboratory protocols
  • Analyze and organize experimental data using Excel, RStudio, or related software tools
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining laboratory organization
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, trainees, and investigators on ongoing projects
  • Follow all laboratory safety, biosafety, and quality control procedures

Environment

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associate’s degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.

Strong preference given to those who have:

  • Prior hands‑on laboratory bench experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with basic laboratory techniques and pipetting
  • Experience working with 96-well plate-based assays or similar experimental workflows
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain thorough and accurate laboratory documentation
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with human cell lines
  • Experience with flow cytometry
  • Familiarity with immunologic or protein-based assays (ELISA, cell-based assays, immunofluorescence, etc.)
  • Experience with data analysis using RStudio and/or Excel
  • Prior exposure to translational, clinical, or neuroimmunology research environments
  • Experience handling human biological specimens

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. Pay range: $27.99–41.98 per hour.
