Responsibilities

These positions may be located in Rochester, MN, Jacksonville, FL or Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ.

Position Overview

Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC) - at each of its destination medical center sites in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona;
Jacksonville, Florida; and Rochester, Minnesota - invite applications for open-rank faculty positions for Implementation and Evaluation Scientists. These positions are associated with leadership opportunities and a commitment to translating cancer research into clinical and community impact. Successful candidates will conduct research focused on assessment of the efficacy and impact of highly innovative, transformative cancer interventions, including cancer prevention and therapeutic interventions, new clinical trial designs, cancer survivorship, and highly innovative modes of cancer care delivery and clinical trials within and beyond our walls in patient home and community settings.

Mayo Clinic and MCCCC have built world-class research, clinical, and education and training programs to overcome and cure cancer using innovative research and therapeutic delivery platforms. These include Mayo Clinic Platform (MCP;(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) - the world’s largest collaborative federated healthcare data network - holding the fully digitized longitudinal healthcare records from 15M Mayo Clinic patients and 54M patients from across the nation and the globe.

Mayo Clinic Platform facilitates research by enabling development of longitudinal patient cohorts prior to and following disease diagnosis which can be used for discovery and interventional research and for innovative clinical trial designs, including synthetic emulation trials. In collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program, MCCCC has also developed very strong AI-driven discovery, translational, and clinical programs with exceptional “on premises” (NVIDIA Blackwell) and cloud-based computational resources.

Cancer AI programs are focused on predictive modeling of virtual cells, tissues, and organs; digital twins; and AI-based multi-layered models for early cancer detection, interception, drug discovery, and guided interventions. In collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Research and Practice shields, MCCCC has also developed two highly innovative programs, including Cancer Care Beyond WallsTM (CCBW) and Clinical Trials Beyond WallsTM (CTBW).

CCBW is focused on the development of platforms and tools to safely, expediently, and effectively deliver cancer care - often in the context of clinical trials - in patient homes and community settings, while CTBW is focused on the development of virtual and digital tools for the implementation of decentralized clinical trials in patient home and community settings.

In this context, Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking highly motivated investigators to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment embedded within Mayo Clinic’s integrated academic and clinical enterprise which includes real‑world cancer care delivery and clinical trials in patient and community settings. Successful candidates will have strong research programs focused on implementing and evaluating evidence‑based approaches to improve cancer treatment delivery, supportive care, survivorship, or related outcomes.

Candidates will bring expertise in implementation science, pragmatic or hybrid study designs, hybrid effectiveness‑implementation designs, mixed methods evaluation, and/or stakeholder‑engaged research approaches. The role includes opportunities to generate real‑world evidence that informs clinical and operational decision‑making and supports the integration of evidence‑based practices in one or more areas of cancer treatment delivery, supportive care, or survivorship, including work conducted in community, health system, and other real‑world settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a focused program of research in cancer treatment delivery, symptom management, survivorship, or quality of life
  • Design and lead pragmatic trials, hybrid effectiveness‑implementation studies, and real‑world…
