Position: COOK (FULL TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full‑time COOK positions.

Location

U of Minnesota Rochester – 111 Broadway Avenue South, Suite 300 A, Rochester, MN 55904.

Schedule

Full‑time, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm on weekends. Hours and days may vary. Further details will be provided during the interview.

Pay Range

$18.21 to $22.00 per hour.

Summary

Prepares food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
  • Serve meals or prepare for delivery, using correct portioning, tasting prepared goods, and ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain records from the area worked.
  • Clean the kitchen after preparation and service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food per safe food‑handling procedures.
  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; store food and supplies per standards.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
  • Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
  • Perform job tasks safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and temperature maintenance; follow HACCP standards.
  • Commit personally to your own safety and that of others.
  • Abide by all company policies, including:
    • Use of medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning slicers.
    • Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans.
    • Use of slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
