Dietary Aide

Assist with the preparation and delivery of meals to all service areas including patients, cafeteria, catering and others. Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety. Washes all dishes, trays, cookware, carts and utensils. May also operate a cash register.

• Assist in preparation and set-up of assigned food for patients and employees.
• Follow cycle menus, modified menus, and standardized recipes when preparing food.
• Assemble patient food trays according to dietary needs.
• Deliver and retrieve patient food trays.
• Prepare items for meal service in cafeteria.
• Restock product during meal service and maintain area.
• Set up catered meals and snacks as scheduled.
• Check temperatures regularly prior to serving food.
• Label, date, cover, and store food properly.
• Utilize sanitizing techniques for food, self, and equipment.
• Dispose of garbage and waste properly.
• Assist in putting away grocery orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.

• High school diploma or GED with one year of food service experience.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in food service and/or sanitation standards required with high school diploma or GED.

• Medium Work.
• Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently.
• 0.5 FTE (40 hours per two-week pay period).
• 7- hour day/evening shifts.
• Every other weekend rotation.
• Every other weekend 8-hour day shifts on the weekends and evening shifts during the week with start times ranging from 3:30pm to 4:15pm and ending no later than 9:00pm.
• Fast paced, walking/standing delivering trays to patients. Everyone helps in the dish room and picks up dirty trays.

Pay Range: $19.38 to $25.39 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
