Team Leader
Pay Range: $15.1 - $18.2 hourly
OverallJob Summary
The Team Leader assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with operational, sales, and merchandising objectives by delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. They promote a safe and productive work environment and train Team Members on applicable policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
- Uphold and enforce work environment safety policies.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
- Greet the customer.
- Uncover customer needs & wants.
- Recommend product solutions.
- Ask to add value & appreciate the customer.
- Perform a combination of duties during 95 % of the day, including:
- Basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities.
- Opening/Closing procedures.
- Bank deposit transport.
- Assess store conditions, assign duties, and organize workflow using the daily planner.
- Recovery of merchandise.
- Participate in mandatory freight process.
- Perform regular and promotional price change activities.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure an exceptional shopping experience.
- Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls.
- Communicate with Team Members on job functions, responsibilities and financial goals.
- Operate cash register/computer and supervise cash handling procedures.
- Assist Team Members with policies and procedures application.
- Ensure safety and well‑being of poultry, sanitize holding tanks, and care for birds as required.
- Operate forklift and baler.
- Complete all associated documentation.
- Obtain required licenses or certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Retail experience and/or knowledge of farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding (strongly preferred).
- Supervisor experience preferred.
- Minimum age 18 and must possess a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict.
- Ability to perform core responsibilities of Team Members.
- Indoor work with moderate noise, usually inside the store with occasional outdoor lot duties.
- Shifts typically ≥4 hours, may exceed 8 hours.
- Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed.
- Hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt) with adequate lighting and temperature.
- Need to promote a safe, productive environment for Team Members and customers.
- Move merchandise weighing up to 50 lb.
- Push/pull up to 2,000 lb with material handling equipment.
- Occasional lifts or reaches overhead.
- Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, and climbing ladders.
- Move throughout the store entire shift.
- Access all areas of the store, including selling floor, side lot, stock, and register areas.
