Sales Representative, Business Development, Outside Sales
Our client is a leading provider of outdoor recreation equipment that centers around parks and recreation. They are seeking an Outside Sales Rep responsible for direct selling/promoting, cold calling and territory management. In this role, you will be prospecting for new clients as well as building existing relationships. Presentations are via face to face client meetings, presenting to small as well as large clients.
The goal is to drive revenue and grow market share. Candidates must be comfortable selling a complex product as well as a longer sales cycle. This role will involve collaboration with designers, landscape architects and installers. Ideal candidates will have sales experience targeting municipalities, building and construction and education sectors.
- Meet / exceed project goals and overall objectives
- Demonstrate value of products/services through face-to-face meetings to account base within assigned territory
- Prepare presentation for key decision makers based on determined needs of customers
- Identify business opportunities within new and current client base
- Articulate the value proposition of products and services
- Build and maintain client relationships; offer guidance and support throughout the entire sales process, make recommendations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products/services and market
- Assist with management of projects; estimating, adhering to cost, quality and time standards
- Collaborate with other departments, assist development of creative initiatives to meet client needs/requirements and ensure effective project management
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required
- Min. 2+ years of Sales experience within the construction, architecture, recreation and/or building materials industries
- Experience selling projects with complex, consultative sales
- Knowledge/Understanding of construction process, RFP and bid processes
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Excellent Presentation and Communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM
- Ability to travel within territory
- Year 1 Guarantee $70,000 - $85,000
- Earnings over $100,000 by Year 3
- Commissions
