** Responsibilities*
* We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team advancing the development and application of deep learning in cardiovascular radiology. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, cardiology, and radiology.

The project focuses on developing and applying innovative deep learning methods-including segmentation algorithms, large language models (LLMs), and multimodal deep learning approaches-to improve image-based assessment of cardiovascular structure and disease. The emphasis will be on the development of trustworthy AI models to facilitate their clinical translation.

** Qualifications*
* + Candidates with a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field

+ Strong background in medical image analysis and deep learning demonstrated by a publication track-record is required

+ Experience in cardiovascular image analysis is an advantage

+ Proficiency in Phyton and major machine learning frameworks is required

+ Clinical experience or educational background is desirable but not required

+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

+ Highly motivated and independent

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

* Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.

** Compensation Detail*
* $71,992 - $84,220 / year;
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
