What You Will Do
As an HVAC Controls Electrician, you will perform installation and checkout of HVAC control systems in commercial and industrial environments. This role supports building automation systems (BAS), working with electrical contractors and internal teams to ensure systems are installed safely, accurately, and according to code.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality controls installations while building strong relationships with customers on-site.
How You Will Do It- Install raceways, conduit, cables, and wiring in accordance with local and national electrical codes
- Mount, wire, and terminate HVAC controls panels, sensors, actuators, and related equipment
- Perform system checkout and verify wiring using electrical test instruments
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and engineering documents
- Assist with material planning and installation scope review
- Communicate project progress, job site challenges, and material needs to management
- Maintain accurate documentation including time sheets, expense reports, and as‑built drawings
- Coordinate with prime electrical contractors and other trades as required
- Support customer communication before, during, and after installation
- Follow all company and job‑site safety policies
Required
- Electrical apprenticeship OR formal training in electrical installation
- Journeyman‑level electrical license (or equivalent experience where applicable)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Working knowledge of electrical codes related to controls installations
- Experience determining installation materials and job scope
- Ability to work independently in the field
- 3–5+ years of experience in HVAC controls, building automation, or electrical controls installation
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Familiarity with low‑voltage systems and control wiring
- Stable, long‑term commercial projects
- Growth into advanced controls or commissioning roles
- Work with leading HVAC and automation technologies
- Strong safety culture
Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
