Job Overview

Q3 Contracting, a division of Primoris, is a publicly owned construction contracting company that offers turnkey services in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industries. We are hiring experienced LOCATORS for our MN crew.
Key Responsibilities- Perform safe and accurate locates focused on gas and electric underground utilities.
- Maintain high standards of quality and quantity in locating work.
- Prevent damage to customer facilities by utilizing all reasonable and available means.
- Efficiently manage and coordinate assigned work volumes.
- Make reasonable commitments and ensure they are upheld.
- Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner with contractors, vendors, and customers.
- Show respect toward fellow employees at all levels and honor work‑related requests.
- Identify and inform supervisors when construction projects present elevated danger to customer facilities.
- Identify and notify supervisors when inaccuracies or omissions in customer maps and records are discovered.
- Provide support to other divisions when needed and at supervisor’s request.
- Willingness to learn new job skills and tasks when the company deems appropriate.
- Perform all work functions in accordance with QUS field policy, procedures, and safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2 years of line locating experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
- Solid communication and reasoning skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, foremen, excavators, contractors, and customers.
- Able to pass pre‑employment and ongoing drug tests, and possible physicals as required by state or federal agencies and QUS.
- Fundamental understanding of basic locating concepts and utility distribution.
- Ability to read and interpret utility maps, records, and locate ticket requests.
- Fundamental understanding of One Call System rules and regulations.
- Hourly wage: $32.26 per hour, paid weekly.
- Additional compensation: $8.94 per hour toward pension and $3.00 per hour toward vacation fund.

All positions require participation in federally compliant PHMSA or FMSCA drug and alcohol testing programs, including both pre‑employment and ongoing random testing.
