Job Summary
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician requires a diverse mix of both hard and soft skills, particularly manual labor skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance around the building (window, door, or wall repair)
- Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Work on the building’s electricity and damaged wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
- Maintain the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control functioning properly
- Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems (e.g., using a sealant on a flat roof)
- Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Paint the building when paint has become faded or chipped
- Use carpentry skills for basic repairs around the building
- Perform groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas
- Maintain attention to detail to ensure all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and hazards are not overlooked
- Demonstrate innovativeness to notice problems and find solutions
- Interact with employees or residents in a pleasant manner

- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of related experience
- Current human resources and/or compensation credentials or certification preferred
- Plumbing, carpentry, or electrical certifications demonstrate versatility and added value
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Visual acuity for inspections, color differentiation, and reading electronic documentation
- Manufacturing environment requiring appropriate eye protection
- Exposure to high noise level requiring hearing protection
- Gowning and sanitation for manufacturing in a clean room
- Health management: diverse health offerings, including a health clinic
- Training and development: tailored training programs for various roles
- Food: vending machines with a variety of snacks and food options
- Flexibility: mobile work possible
