DescriptionHeavily involved in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production operations, the Maintenance Technician performs daily maintenance activities on a wide variety of equipment and facility systems, including grinding, forming, freezing, packaging, conveying, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting work within the CMMS system.
PositionSummary
Depending on experience, technicians may handle increasingly complex troubleshooting involving motors, industrial electrical systems, VFDs, PLCs, controls, and automated production equipment. Candidates with industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, automation, mechatronics, military maintenance, diesel technology, or related trades are encouraged to apply.
Pay Rate$30.00 to $36.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, certifications, and overall qualifications. Highly experienced candidates may be considered for compensation above this range.
Sign‑on BonusUp to $5,000, paid in installments: $1,000 after 30 days, $1,500 after 90 days, and $2,500 after six months of active employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime and support production operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and equipment repairs following CMMS work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Analyze mechanical and operational equipment issues using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and trade‑specific tools.
- Repair and maintain production equipment, including grinders, forming equipment, conveyors, freezers, packaging systems, motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and related processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including motors, starters, contractors, relays, sensors, switches, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control systems, as applicable.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Install, service, repair, and adjust production equipment and facility systems as assigned.
- Utilize CMMS software to document preventive maintenance, repairs, labor hours, work orders, and parts usage.
- Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO and proper PPE usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while communicating equipment concerns and repair status to maintenance leadership and production personnel.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and solve mechanical problems.
- One or more years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, or related technical experience preferred.
- Completion of a technical program in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Automation, or a related skilled trade will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and working in elevated areas.
- Proficient in reading work instructions, equipment manuals, schematics, and using hand and power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of industrial mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot production equipment and minimize equipment downtime.
- Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Working knowledge of motors, VFDs, PLCs, industrial controls, and electrical components is preferred.
