Overview
A Technician Trainee will be trained and educated to become a proficient auto glass technician. Upon completing our training program, the trainee will receive the Safelite Safe Tech certification and gain fundamental skills necessary for performing unsupervised glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations, while embodying the company’s spirit of service and quality.
Responsibilities- Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training.
- Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.
- Provide additional services and products.
- Study for and pass the Safelite‑certified Technician exam.
- Operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $21.25/hour, increasing to $25.25/hour after training and certification.
- Earn additional income from customer‑selected value‑added products and services.

- Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.
- Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
- Paid training and all required tools and resources.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Additional licenses as required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist body.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and computer diagnostic tools.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and comply with surveillance technology.
- Professional customer service mindset; communicate orally and in writing.
- Work in varied weather conditions and with chemicals where applicable.
- Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times.
- Problem‑solving ability, both independently and collaboratively.
- Maintain professional appearance per dress code and PPE policies.
- Adapt under professional or personal pressure.
