About the Role:

Overnight & Evening shifts. Overnight shifts will include a $1.50/hour shift differential.
Join the Women's Shelter and Support Center as an Advocate in Rochester, MN, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals facing domestic violence. Be part of a compassionate team dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for clients in crisis situations.
  • Assist clients in navigating legal and social services systems.
  • Facilitate support groups and educational workshops.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance support services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions.
  • Promote awareness of domestic violence issues within the community.
  • Engage in outreach activities to connect with potential clients.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Experience in crisis intervention or advocacy work is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent training and life experiences
  • Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services.
  • Compassionate demeanor and a commitment to client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence issues and trauma-informed care.
