Overview
Family Service Rochester is seeking a full‑time case manager for our FATHER Project program, which supports fathers in overcoming barriers that prevent them from supporting their children both economically and emotionally. The primary goal of the FATHER Project is to enhance parent self‑sufficiency, reduce risk factors for children and families, and increase safety, well‑being and stability.
Responsibilities- Partner with fathers experiencing complex challenges—including disproportionate effects, generational poverty, historical trauma, homelessness, domestic violence, substance use, mental health challenges, economic and employment instability, and system involvement—in achieving individualized goals.
- Complete thorough assessments of needs and develop fatherhood plans in collaboration with participants.
- Provide comprehensive support through home visits, community resource navigation, collaboration with community service providers, and career development services designed to optimize employment outcomes.
- Co‑facilitate weekly peer support and education groups for participants.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
- Knowledge of career development, family‑centered case management, social work principles, and experience with families and communities of color.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Preference given to bilingual English/Spanish speakers and those holding or eligible for a Minnesota Social Work License.
