- Spending most of your day in a company‑owned vehicle, safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x‑rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail and related materials.
- Operating a hand‑held scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
- Strictly observing operating policies, procedures and service schedules.
- Presenting a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
- Loading and unloading company vehicles with appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrating safe and courteous driving behavior.
- Conducting pre/post‑trip vehicle inspections and maintaining a clean, neat and orderly vehicle.
- Performing route duties based on client and business needs, with ability to adapt to all route assignments.
- Demonstrating teamwork, cooperation and adaptability with teammates and clients.
- Building and nurturing a collaborative Med Speed team culture.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be 19 years of age with an active driver’s license for 3 years.
- Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
- Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
- Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
- Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen.
- Operate company vehicles equipped with dashcam recording systems.
- Drive a non‑commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent driving history.
- Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination as required by location and local mandates.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands, including lifting items off storage racks.
- Comfort with walking long distances and standing for long periods of time.
As a condition of employment, all candidates receiving an offer must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
