Driver I – Non‑DOT Management Level, Individual Contributor. Flexible Work Option:
No remote work; must be located at a specified Cox facility.
Work Shift:
Mon‑Fri, 8am‑5pm. Compensation:
Hourly pay rate of $16.63 with potential additional incentive programs, plus a $1,000 signing bonus paid out at 30 days of employment.
- Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days in a safe manner.
- Transport vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises and from/to customer dealerships and businesses while observing auction driving rules and traffic laws.
- Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by a supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate “lost” vehicles.
- Assist with vehicle operation as needed, including inflating tires and jump‑starting vehicles using a battery box and air tank.
- Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; inform the Service or Gas Truck Driver when a vehicle is out of gas.
- Assist customers (e.g., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies) and coworkers as needed.
- Visibly demonstrate a safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
- Actively participate in safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Work overtime as business needs dictate.
- Valid driver’s license; safe driver required.
- Ability to enter, exit, sit, walk, stand, reach, and move frequently; prolonged sitting and walking required.
- Physical ability to lift 1–15 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
- Vision: close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Preferred:
High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles; prior auction experience.
Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise level.
Drug TestingApplicants must pass a pre‑employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not conduct a marijuana test for this position but maintains a drug‑free workplace; possession, use, or influence of illegal drugs during work hours or on company property is prohibited.
