Bluewater Hayes is partnering with a U.S.
-based, global manufacturing organization to identify a seasoned Business Unit Controller
. This organization is a market leader in its space, known for engineering excellence, innovation, and long-term investment in product development and operational growth.

The Business Unit Controller will lead financial management activities for a core business unit and related entities. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting, payroll, cost accounting, and financial reporting functions while partnering closely with executive leadership to support business performance, decision-making, and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the business unit’s financial plans, policies, and internal controls
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare internal financial statements and analyze variances versus budget and forecast
- Maintain complete and accurate fiscal records across entities
- Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including material cost analysis and estimates
- Support and maintain relationships with financial institutions and external partners
- Direct and mentor accounting and payroll staff, prioritizing workloads to ensure deadlines and performance targets are met
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership to support strategic initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management
- Experience with business consolidations and multi-entity reporting
- Strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required)
- Experience working in an ERP environment;
Epicor Kinetic experience strongly preferred - Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to executive and non-financial stakeholders
