Overview
Join us in becoming the premier die casting manufacturer and engineering solutions supplier worldwide. The Quality Engineer oversees all Quality Assurance functions at the Plant level throughout the product launch and life‑time cycles. The Quality Engineer works closely with internal and external customers to ensure products and processes meet predetermined specifications.
Responsibilities- Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
- Determine and enforce quality and safety requirements in accordance with company needs, regulations, and product development.
- Organize and promote company‑wide quality improvement efforts.
- Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability, and safety.
- Implement and maintain the company quality system; report performance to management for improvement.
- Liaise with external parties on matters related to the quality system.
- Oversee APQP activity at the plant level including Process Flow, PFMEA and Control Plans.
- Prepare and submit PPAPs.
- Develop and maintain Quality Control work instructions.
- Implement reporting and disposal procedures for RMA scrap material.
- Manage the corrective action process.
- Develop and maintain an effective statistical methods program and train personnel in its use.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives using data collection, control charting, dimensional inspection, and experimental design techniques.
- Identify and pursue growth and development opportunities for succession planning within the quality department.
- Track and report performance metrics; provide resources to meet goals.
- Direct the activities of the AS/ISO administrator to maintain the QMS.
- Ensure products meet customer and quality standards and that the QMS conforms to AS9100/ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor, measure, and review internal processes affecting product quality.
- Report on the QMS performance, including quality audit results and corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely inspection/calibration of measurement devices.
- Respond promptly to customer corrective action requests.
- Collaborate with customers, employees, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements.
- Participate actively in production meetings with sales, engineering, programming, and manufacturing teams.
- Identify areas for Quality Control improvement and implement new methods.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Engineering, CPA, etc.) plus 5 years of related experience and/or training, and 5 years of related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions.
- Ability to write and speak in simple sentences for basic communication.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Strong interpersonal skills: interact with all levels of the organization, function as a team player, lead without authority, build credibility and trust, influence leaders, and change paradigms.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Minitab statistical analysis software.
