The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people’s lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we can provide financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in‑residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities: a clean, healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction.

All our efforts are focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to work in the production store. The associate will manage a wide variety of responsibilities in the store and production area, maintaining a pleasant work environment and building strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities Cashier / Sales Floor
  • Comply with all cash handling and security standards, including cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.
  • Sort, price, stock and “rag‑out” showcase merchandise and other areas as directed.
  • Restock fitting‑room merchandise to proper racks, maintaining category and color coding.
  • Maintain merchandise displays and answer telephone calls efficiently and professionally.
Sorter
  • Sort a minimum of 300 store‑quality garments per hour by department.
  • Assist moving donations to the sorting table and with hanging merchandise as needed.
  • Run clothing racks as required and assist in organizing the production area.
Hanger / Tagger
  • Hang and tag a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from the sorting table.
  • Ensure garments are on the correct hanger type and categorized properly.
Pricer
  • Price a minimum of 250 garments per hour, using a wide range of prices based on style, quality and condition.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of name‑brand merchandise values.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign appropriate fair‑market prices.
Runner
  • Place a minimum of 225 garments per hour from the production room to the sales floor by department, category and color order.
  • Straighten and maintain the clothing racks of assigned departments.
  • Rag‑out merchandise per the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
Bric a Brac
  • Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign individual fair‑market prices.
  • Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
Shoes / Accessories
  • Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign individual fair‑market prices.
  • Process a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour to the store, maintaining required order.
Domestics
  • Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign individual fair‑market prices.
  • Process a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour to the store, maintaining required order.
Books / Records / Toys
  • Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily as required.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign individual fair‑market prices per established policies.
  • Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
Furniture / Electrical
  • Sort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required.
  • Ticket all electrical merchandise using “sold as is” tickets and assign individual fair‑market prices.
  • Complete furniture tickets and record required information.
  • Mark down furniture items on the sales floor per policy.
  • Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
Donations / Maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks and parking areas daily.
  • Accept donations per standard policies, providing courteous, respectful service to donors.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds as required.
  • Receive and record donated material per policy, maintaining cleanliness of all donation facilities.
  • Safeguard all donated materials and equipment.
  • Maintain a constant flow of donations to the sorting table throughout the day.
  • Assist with ragging out the sales floor as assigned and bale rag‑outs and trash as required.
  • Perform lawn and garden work as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
