This position is responsible for performing the safe service and installation of propane and oil equipment on a daily basis.
What your role will look like
- Install HVAC equipment primarily in new residential homes; troubleshoot, repair, and service HVAC equipment.
- Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspection and operate a company vehicle in a safe manner, in compliance with state/federal safety regulations and motor vehicle laws.
- Travel to customer locations in a safe manner and maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Present a neat, clean appearance, including maintaining a clean uniform.
- Support Eastern's policies and procedures, including maintaining required licensure, meeting state and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) requirements, and complying with all applicable regulatory standards.
- Work must be completed in a safe manner, including reporting of any/all unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
- Collaborate with team members, builders, and other subcontractors to ensure that work is completed safely, timely and efficiently.
- Completion of forms and paperwork in a neat, timely, and accurate manner.
What you'll bring to this role
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
2+ years of industry experience preferred. - Licensure/Certification:
- Valid state license for size vehicle.
- Valid licensing and certifications for propane and/or oil-fired equipment installation, service, and repair.
- Provide a record of a safe driving history and maintain safe driving record.
- Knowledge of the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54), the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code (NFPA 58), and the Standard for the Installation of Oil-Burning Equipment (NFPA 31).
- Hold and maintain a New Hampshire Gas Fitters license. A Maine Gas Fitters license, Maine Oil Burner license and Universal Refrigerant license also preferred.
- Experience installing hot air systems, ductwork, and air conditioning.
- Working knowledge with the ability to install boilers for LP and Oil systems and air conditioning systems.
- Knowledge of line and low voltage wiring, with the ability to use a test meter.
- Ability to size and install gas piping systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local code regulations and schematics to work being performed.
- Ability to discern colors for the safe troubleshooting and repair of propane and oil equipment.
- Knowledge of how to perform and accurately document system tests including leak checks, leak tests, pressure tests, flow and lockup tests, Gas Checks, and carbon monoxide tests.
- Proficient electrical skills including the use of a test meter to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write English and perform basic math skills.
- Ability to perform all functions of the job in every weather condition, day and night.
