Accounts Payable Manager
Location: In-office, Monday-Friday
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 per year

Position Overview
Elmer W. Davis, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and manage the full-cycle accounts payable function within a construction-focused office environment. This role is critical to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor and subcontractor payments while maintaining strong relationships with partners and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction payables and be eager to grow and develop within the role.

Core Responsibilities

• Key and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Prepare and process weekly check runs
• Manage and maintain positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Process subcontractor payments in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
• Maintain and update vehicle and equipment asset lists
• Prepare and produce monthly union remittance reports
• Ensure accounts payable activities comply with company policies and construction industry standards
• Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience within the construction industry (required)
• Strong understanding of construction payables, including subcontractor payments and union remittances
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction office environment
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel experience preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing or overseeing accounts payable functions
• Hands-on experience with Sage ERP system is preferred.
• Familiarity with construction accounting software
• Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills
