Accounts Payable Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our high functioning finance team. This position plays an important role in supporting the company’s financial operations by accurately processing invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities- Accurately enter vendor invoices into our accounting system, verifying accuracy and completeness.
- Match invoices to purchase orders to ensure proper documentation and approvals.
- Assist with payment processing and maintain records of all disbursements.
- Reconcile vendor statements and help resolve any discrepancies or billing issues.
- Maintain up-to-date and organized digital and physical files for accounts payable documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports on AP activity and outstanding balances as requested.
- Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments to ensure smooth payment processes.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities by providing necessary information and reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor information, including W-9s and insurance certificates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to streamline AP processes.
- 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a related accounting role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (experience with AS400 or Procore a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Basic understanding of general accounting principles and journal entries.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Experience in the construction or mechanical contracting industry is a plus.
