Job Responsibilities

As an Accounting Manager
, you will administer, direct and support the Accounting department at the hotel.

Your specific duties in this role will include:

  • Handle guest billing inquires and/or disputes.
  • Maintain hotel house accounts.
  • Reconcile and mitigate tax issues and prepare monthly filings.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining current and aging ledgers, month end procedures and reports, process accounts receivable, brand reimbursements, balancing payroll, market segment reports, and process brand invoices.
  • Analyze and post financial information into the Income Journal.
  • Investigate and resolve all accounting discrepancies.
  • Reconcile and approve various invoices.
  • Process billing, deposits and receipts for all Events and Groups.
  • Reconcile certificates including brand gift cards, loyalty programs and restaurant gift certificates
  • Review dailies for accuracy and make edits as necessary.
  • Ensure timely collection of all Accounts Receivable.
  • Prepare and process monthly and annual closing reports.
  • Maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Maintain up to date records and files.
  • Prepare month end journal entries
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet
  • Coordinate and implement accounting projects as assigned
  • Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel, i.e. restaurant, lounge, room service.
Job Requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated Accounting Manager with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to establish rapport with guests and colleagues.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • 2 to 4 years related experience ;
    Bachelor's degree (B.

    A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Property Management System (PMS) and POS system experience a plus
  • Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
