Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an early-career Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early professional who wants broad exposure to accounting in a manufacturing environment and the opportunity to grow with a small, technical company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer billing
- Record and reconcile general ledger transactions
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Assist with inventory accounting, including tracking materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Help maintain job costing and project accounting for custom optics programs
- Support payroll processing and employee expense reports
- Assist with financial reports, budgets, and audits as needed
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and GAAP
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or near completion)
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience (internships welcome)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Proficiency with Excel (formulas, basic analysis)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a small-team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to manufacturing or cost accounting
- Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Epicor, SAP, or similar)
- Interest in technical or manufacturing industries
- CPA eligibility or intent to pursue CPA (not required)

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is low.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision.
This position is subject to US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which require US person status.
