Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY. Position Summary
We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Accountant to play a key role in managing the company’s day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting. In our lean, collaborative environment, this role requires strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
The Senior Accountant will lead the daily accounting function, monthly close process, ensure accuracy of financial data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), and support process improvements as we continue to grow.
This role reports directly to the Controller and works closely with operations and department leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting
- Lead and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Prepare and post journal entries in D365 F&O
- Perform and review account reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, inventory, accruals, fixed assets, etc.)
- Maintain general ledger integrity and chart of accounts
- Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules
- Analyze variances and provide insight to leadership
- ERP Ownership – Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within D365 F&O
- Maintain accounting modules, dimensions, and reporting structures
- Support system improvements, workflows, and reporting enhancements
- Partner with IT or external consultants on upgrades or system optimization
- Assist with user training and best practices across departments
- Operational Accounting
- Oversee revenue recognition and expense accrual processes
- Support inventory accounting and cost tracking
- Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation
- Support cash management and working capital monitoring
- Assist with payroll, benefits administration and HR strategy
- Compliance & Controls
- Maintain and improve internal controls appropriate for a growing company
- Support annual audit and tax preparation processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Assist in documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Process Improvement & Cross‑Functional Support
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automation
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide financial insights to department leaders
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in a small or mid‑sized company environment strongly preferred
- Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Strong ownership mentality and ability to work independently
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a lean organization
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills
- Systems‑oriented thinker with ERP proficiency
- Strong communication skills across finance and operations
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
