Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and supporting the business with timely administrative functions.

The Blueprint for Success

- Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  • Process vendor invoices and payments
  • Generate and send customer invoices
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables

    Enter purchase orders and inventory transactions
  • Reconcile credit card statements monthly
  • Enter credit card transactions and report discrepancies
  • Job Costing & Project Accounting:
  • Track expenses and revenue by job/project
  • Support project management teams with administrative tasks
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations
  • Maintain organized records for audits and inspections
  • Administrative Support:
  • Serve as a backup for other accounting functions
  • Assist with general office tasks and vendor communications
  • Ensure timely and professional handling of incoming calls to support efficient communication and customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned

Tools for the Job

Required:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting
  • Strong Excel and data entry skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of job costing and construction billing practices
  • Experience with Acumatica
