2027 Entry Level Staff Accountant (Upstate New York) – Start your public accounting career with the Bonadio Group. We hire entry‑level accountants and develop future leaders in public accounting.

Start October 2027 or January 2028 based on CPA eligibility.
- Develop familiarity with professional standards by learning key pronouncements issued by the FASB, AICPA, GAO, and GASB.
- Assist with tax return preparation, supporting federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Identify accounting issues and apply appropriate accounting principles.
- Build strong, professional client relationships.
- Communicate effectively by responding to supervisors and clients and keeping team leaders informed.
- Follow quality‑control procedures by adhering to firm practice‑management guidelines, technology tools, and quality‑control systems.
Start August or October 2027, or January 2028 based on CPA eligibility.
- Prepare and/or review complex business and individual tax returns and perform financial statement compilations and reviews.
- Handle client special projects by preparing and/or reviewing budget analyses, cash‑flow projections, and other advisory projects.
- Develop strong client relationships through effective working relationships.
- Identify and research tax and accounting issues, develop practical resolutions, and prepare clear written conclusions.
- Manage schedules and deadlines.
- Support staff development by assisting in training, development, and mentoring staff and interns.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
- CPA eligibility (progress toward certification).
- Less than one year of experience – ideal for new or soon‑to‑be graduates.
- Tech‑savvy mindset with confidence using Microsoft Office and accounting software.

Locations:
Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse.
Salary: $60,500 per year.
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Summer hours:
Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.;
Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
