Spring & Summer 2027 Accounting Internship Opportunities (Upstate New York)
Launch your public accounting career with The Bonadio Group. Internship candidates who advance to the next round will be scheduled for interviews in September 2026. Interns will perform meaningful accounting work, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges and rewards of public accounting. They will work with Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, Managers, Principals, and Partners, developing technical skills, building confidence, and contributing to real client engagements.

Locations
:
Albany, Buffalo, East Aurora (Spring only), Rochester, and Syracuse. Work arrangement:
In‑person at one of our Upstate New York offices.
What you'll do
- Prepare individual, small business, and corporate tax returns
- Assist with tax research and planning projects
- Analyze financial information and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with experienced tax professionals on client engagements
- Learn how public accounting professionals deliver exceptional client service
Expected schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week.
Small Business Advisory (SBA) Internship (Spring 2027)What you'll do
- Assist with bookkeeping and accounting functions
- Support financial statement compilations
- Prepare and review client financial information
- Learn small business tax preparation processes
- Work directly with accounting professionals serving a diverse client base
- Develop an understanding of advisory services and client relationships
Expected schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week.
Assurance Internship (Available Spring and/or Summer 2027)What you'll do
- Engage in audit and assurance projects, including the Efficiency Center and specialized industry projects
- Participate in Form 990 preparation and review support
- Contribute to Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) engagements
- Work on Technical Accounting Standards Update (ASU) projects
- Involve in innovation initiatives focused on processes and client service
- Assist in year‑end audit engagements alongside experienced Assurance professionals
Expected schedule: Spring: 20–25 hours per week;
Summer: approximately 36 hours per week.
We are looking for motivated students who are eager to learn and contribute. Candidates should meet the following:
- Active enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s accounting program
- Coursework that supports progress toward CPA eligibility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Passion for client service and continuous learning

Compensation & HoursSalary: $22 per hour
Hours of operation:
- Monday—Friday: 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.
- Summer (Monday—Thursday): 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.;
Friday: 8:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.
