Position: Contract Payroll Administrator
Location: City of Rochester

Role Mission

To support accurate and timely payroll processing through high-volume data entry, certified payroll reporting, and payroll record management across all divisions. This role helps maintain compliance, payroll accuracy, and strong administrative support for both field and office operations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Enter payroll data accurately for hourly, union, and field employees.
  • Process employee hours, job cost coding, PTO, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
  • Assist with weekly certified payroll reporting for public and prevailing wage projects.
  • Review payroll information for missing data, discrepancies, or reporting errors.
  • Maintain organized payroll records, employee files, and supporting compliance documentation.
  • Support payroll audits and reporting requests by gathering accurate records and backup documentation.
  • Work closely with Payroll, HR, and Operations teams to ensure payroll information is complete and accurate.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and internal teams professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information.
  • Support administrative payroll tasks and general data entry responsibilities as needed.
  • Strong data entry and administrative skills.
  • Experience with certified payroll reporting preferred.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of payroll processes and union/payroll compliance.
  • Comfortable using payroll systems, Excel, and computer-based reporting tools.
