Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in Rochester, New York through a Contract assignment. This position focuses on maintaining accurate receivables, applying incoming payments, and driving timely collection efforts while supporting billing and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including billing, payment posting, and account reconciliation for customer balances.

- Apply cash receipts accurately and investigate discrepancies to ensure transactions are recorded correctly.

- Conduct commercial collections outreach to follow up on outstanding invoices and encourage timely payment.

- Prepare and distribute customer statements on a regular basis to support account transparency and payment follow-up.

- Generate invoices and verify billing accuracy in alignment with customer terms and internal records.

- Assist with costing-related activities that support accurate financial reporting and customer billing.

Requirements - Experience working in accounts receivable within a detail-oriented business environment.

- Hands-on knowledge of cash application processes and daily cash activity tracking.

- Background in commercial collections with the ability to communicate effectively regarding past-due balances.

- Familiarity with billing operations, invoicing procedures, and account statement distribution.

- Strong accuracy and organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.

- Proficiency in reviewing financial details, identifying discrepancies, and resolving payment-related issues.
