Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining general ledger and preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries within the required timeframe.
- Assist in maintaining Workday general ledger database, participating in ongoing enhancements, discussing/resolving issues with immediate superior.
- Maintain a spreadsheet for all Operating Expenses by month, by company and by department.
- Reconcile and analyze various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist with bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and reconcile all carrier settlement entries including all cash and/or balance sheet entries.
- Act as a back‑up for the intercompany receivable and payable account analyses and for the billing, collection, and payment of any balances due.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financials and management reports.
- Act as a back‑up for the preparation of annual Federal and State tax packages, prepare and file various monthly, quarterly and annual taxation forms and fees, and maintain records of regulatory schedules.
- Gather and produce general ledger reports and work papers needed to prepare various tax schedules.
- Assist all departments in the research and compilation of financial information for all audits, legal and tax requirements.
- Organize and maintain 1099 recipients data and ensure all recipients receive accurate information.
- Reconcile all premium‑related bank accounts and pass the needed entries to complete the monthly close on time.
- Prepare wire transfer entries for the general ledger.
- Additional assignments/projects that may be assigned by the Director, Agency Accounting or Comptroller/CFO.
- 3–5 years’ experience preferred in the insurance industry.
- Workday expertise.
- Accounting degree.
- Strong organizational skills.
An estimated salary range for this role is around $90,000.00.
