Accounting Manager - Payroll and compliance

Description

Seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounting Manager to provide hands-on support across payroll and general accounting.

The role may lean more heavily toward payroll/prevailing wage or toward accounting, as long as the candidate has experience across both areas.

Requirements

+ Weekly multi-state payroll for approximately 60 employees across 9 states

+ Prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance

+ Payroll reporting, timekeeping review, wage classifications and fringe calculations

+ General accounting, AP, billing, reconciliations and month-end support

+ Process improvements, documentation and SOP development

+ Supporting additional accounting and finance projects as needed

Requirements

+ Strong payroll and/or accounting background

+ Multi-state payroll experience

+ Prevailing wage or certified payroll experience strongly preferred

+ General accounting experience

+ Paychex experience is a plus

+ Able to work independently and take ownership of processes

+ Accounting Manager, Payroll Manager, Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller or similar experience
