Location: City of Rochester

Description

Jewish Home is seeking a unit receptionist who will serve as the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors. The receptionist is responsible for monitoring call bells, relaying messages, performing clerical duties, scheduling appointments, and ordering unit supplies.

Pay Range

$17.50–$21.33 per hour (may vary based on experience).

Hours

Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

Education and Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible, flexible, and self‑motivated.
Essential Functions
  • Acts as unit receptionist.
  • Communicates with residents, families, and visitors.
  • Answers call bells and relays messages to nursing staff; responds to requests quickly.
  • Looks for opportunities to assist others and goes above and beyond for residents and families.
  • Performs various clerical responsibilities.
  • Schedules clinical and other resident appointments; assists medical providers with obtaining ordered appointments.
  • Orders unit supplies and stores them appropriately.
  • Maintains a filing system for forms, reports, etc.
  • Schedules and follows up on routine lab work, consultant, and other appointments.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Experience

One year in a similar role; knowledge and use of computers and software needed; typing accuracy required.
