Location: City of Rochester

Nazareth University is seeking a student-centered, collaborative Registrar to provide vision and leadership for our Registration & Records Office across undergraduate and graduate programs. This role drives operational excellence, policy integrity, and continuous improvement in systems and services that directly impact the student experience.

The Registrar also serves as the University’s FERPA Compliance Officer and ensures compliance with academic, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

What You’ll DoLead Registration & Records Operations
  • Oversee core services including student records, registration processes, course schedule building and classroom assignment, grades, transcripts, graduation and program evaluation, academic calendar, and catalog production.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner across students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and external partners.
Drive Policy, Process, and Student Experience Improvements
  • Establish and maintain record-keeping policies and associated procedures, aligned with best practices.
  • Oversee daily operations that ensure accurate and secure records management and delivery.
  • Lead ongoing business process analysis across the Registration & Records Office and the Academic Resource Center to identify and implement efficiencies and student experience enhancements.
  • Chair the Academic Policies and Procedures Committee to develop, review, and revise policies that support student success.
Ensure Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and other academic, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Manage key processes, including National Student Clearinghouse reporting and course roster verification required for Title IV funding.
Partner on Academic Programs
  • Initiate new program creation processes following NYS approval for inclusion in catalogs and updates to associated college systems.
  • Ensure academic program details and requirements are clear and accurate to support degree progress.
Manage People and Resources
  • Supervise administrative, support, and student staff.
  • Develop and maintain the office budget.
  • Foster a team-centered, service-minded culture and strong campus partnerships.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and five years of progressive higher education experience, including three or more years of administrative and managerial experience in a Registrar or student services office.
  • Proven record of effective collaboration, supervision, policy development and implementation, assessment, and budget management, with a commitment to a team-oriented office culture.
  • Knowledge of trends in student services, particularly the use of technology and automation of processes, and the Registrar’s role in supporting the college’s mission.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating technology into office procedures and processes, including managing complex student records systems and systems development.
  • Strong knowledge of FERPA regulations and the ability to handle confidential information sensitively and appropriately.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment, with a record of advocating for and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience directly in a Registrar or Student Records office.
  • Experience with Datatel Colleague and a document imaging system.
