Position OverviewUniversity Preparatory Charter School for Young Men is seeking a high‑energy, detail‑oriented Administrative Assistant for the school year. This role requires strong communication, multitasking, time‑management skills and problem‑solving skills, as well as the ability to engage effectively with students, families, staff, external partners, and support daily school operations.
Job Type: FT/PT
Key Responsibilities- Manage incoming calls, emails, and front office communications
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, and appointments with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain student attendance records and office documentation
- Manage transportation arrangements and resolve related issues
- Maintain awareness of attendance policies, visitor procedures, student pick‑ups, and early dismissals
- Support new student registration and transportation coordination (RCSD)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for office visitors
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and official school documents
- Maintain organized office systems, files, and supplies
- Update Power School, including scheduling changes
- Communicate school policies, procedures, and update staff
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Required:
- Associate's degree
- Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- 2-3 years of experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, or receptionist in a school setting
- Familiarity with office equipment (printers, fax machines, projectors)
- Positive, high‑energy attitude
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Salary Range: $18-$21 per hour (based on education, experience, and work history)
