The Warner School of Education & Human Development at the University of Rochester is seeking a Grants & Contracts Administrator to play a key role in supporting research that advances education, human development, and meaningful societal impact.
Working closely with the Associate Dean for Research, you'll serve as Warner's primary resource for sponsored research—partnering with faculty throughout the full lifecycle of externally funded projects, from proposal development and submission through award management and closeout.
This is an opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, consultative environment where your expertise will directly support researchers as they secure and manage funding from agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the U.S. Department of Education.
What You'll Do- Partner with faculty to develop and submit competitive grant proposals.
- Build and manage complex grant budgets and ensure sponsor compliance.
- Support both pre- and post-award sponsored research activities.
- Serve as Warner's liaison with the University's Office for Research and Project Administration (ORPA) and external funding agencies.
- Guide faculty through sponsor requirements, policies, timelines, and award management.
- Identify opportunities to improve research administration processes and enhance faculty support.
We're looking for someone who brings experience in sponsored research administration and enjoys partnering with researchers to help move important work forward. Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience supporting pre- and post-award sponsored research administration.
- Knowledge of federal funding agencies such as NSF, NIH, or the U.S. Department of Education.
- Experience developing and managing grant budgets.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
- Bachelor's degree required; research administration experience required (2+ years).
